Club Lotto & Bingo:
On Saturday 15th October 2011 the Hillview Lotto was worth €1,100.  The numbers drawn were 8-13-16-19 and there was no Winner.  There were 5 tickets with 3 numbers each receive €20.00.
Next weeks Lotto will take place on Sunday 123rd October.  The Jackpot will now be worth €1,200.  Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers and at the Club Bar.  Buy-ins are also now due, €45.00 for 1 year.  If you’re not in you can’t win.
The club bingo takes place every Monday Night in St. Mary’s Hall in Irishtown, Clonmel.  The books are not expensive and the prizes are good.  Come along and enjoy the evening.

Badminton:
Juvenile Badminton Coaching:
Juvenile Badminton Coaching will start on Friday 5th November 2011.  Coaching will take place from 7.00p.m. until 8.30p.m.  The course will take place over 6 weeks and will cost €30.00.  Payment will be due at the 1st session.  The entry form is on the notice board in the club hallway.  Minimum participants will be 8 and the maximum will be 24.  Any youth interested in coaching please write your name on the sheet provided.  The closing date for entries is Sunday 30th October.  Late applications will be accepted once the course has started and maximum numbers have not been reached.  Any queries can be made to Liam McNamara on 086-1548222.

Tennis:
Club Championships 17th to 22nd October:
We are up and running with matches fully scheduled for every night this week. Keep and eye on the kiosk window or take the opportunity of viewing the full competition online at http://ti.tournamentsoftware.com/ or on the club website. This year’s new sponsors are the Planet Playground. The competition as always promises to be a hum-dinger with players vying for the pole position in their respective grades. Phil & Declan wish the best of luck to all our members taking part this week and hope that everyone will join in on finals night Saturday 22nd for the presentation and socialising afterward.

Hillview Veterans Tournament:
The annual Veteran’s competition was hosted at the club last weekend. It was a great festival of “mature” tennis, great games, great fun and a great social atmosphere. Result of all the rounds can be viewed “online” @ http://ti.tournamentsoftware.com/ or on the club website. This was our third Vets competition and many of our established players were still showing good form and taking their rightful place in the winner’s enclosure while many stalwarts of the Munster vets team also shone through. On Saturday evening we enjoyed a great buffet, courtesy of Eileen Condon, followed by music and dancing and more dancing! till the feet would no longer move… Many thanks to our sponsors Specsavers and G&M Windows. Congratulations to all the competitors and winner with a special mention to our own captain Phil Darrer who lifted her first title in the Vets mixed with her partner Donal McGovern of Dungarvan.  See the photo of the winners below.

Club Winter League:
Yes, the posters are up, inviting you to join this year’s last tennis competition. Matches will be played Tues or Thurs 7pm / 8.30pm commencing 1st/3rd Nov , with finals provisionally scheduled for Sat 26 th Nov. Entries before Thur 27th Oct by 9pm. This is a great team competition to get you out and beat those winter blues!
 
Junior South Tipp League:
Great news came from Cashel last week when our under 12’s teams lifted the coveted title and runner-up spots in this years round robin inter club competition refereed by Lucy Butler and her energetic South Tipp committee. The teams were; Winners Conor Deely & Graham Blanche with Katie Morrissey & Danielle Foley while “runners Up” were Evan Fitzgerald & Alex Gibbons with Aishling Whelan & Anna Carey. This week our U 14 go into their competition hosted at Hillview.

Social Committee:
Table Quiz:
To all ye quiz brains please note that Hillview Sports Club will be the venue to host a table quiz on Thursday 27th October 2011.  The price will be €20.00 per-table of 4 persons.  The start time will be 9.15p.m.  Come along and enjoy a great evening while supporting a good cause.

Captains Night:
Come one come all please note that the Hillview annual Captains Dinner Dance will take place on Saturday 19th November.  The Start time will be 8.00p.m. with Wine and Cheese reception.  Sit down dinner will start at 9.00p.m. sharp...  The price on tickets is set at €25.00 per-person.  Food is by Eileen Condon.  Music and dance till late.  Come along and enjoy.

Pitch and Putt:
Presidents Prize:
The Hillview Pitch and Putt Presidents Prize will take place on Sunday 30th October 2011.  The start time will be 9.00a.m.  The last card will be 2.30p.m.  The Entry fee will be €8.00 per-person.  Come one come all and have a great day.  Presentation of prizes will take place in the Clubhouse at 9.30p.m.

Adult and Juvenile Scramble:
On Monday 31st October there will be a 36 holes 3 ball adult and juvenile scramble.  The entry sheet is on the notice board in the club hallway.  The closing date for entries will be Friday 28th October.  The Entry fee will be €5.00 per-person.  Come on Ladies, Gents, Boys and Girls put your name down and have some fun.  This competition is sponsored.

Juvenile Competition:
On Saturday 15th October we ran a 18 hole competition for juniors.  There was a good entry.  The results are as follows:  Winner was Rowan Wagner with 61; Runner-up was Eoughan Hewitt with 64 and Third was Colm Power with 67.  For the next two weeks there is no junior competition.  Competitions will recommence on Saturday 5th November 2011.

Annual Club Outing:
To all Club members please note that the club outing will take place on Saturday 22nd October.  Bus, Green Fees and Tea & Sandwiches will cost €25.00 per-person.  The Course we will be playing is Fermoy in Cork.  The bus will leave Hillview at 10.00a.m.  Any person interested in going please write your name on the sheet in the club hallway or the Pitch and Putt kiosk.

Sunday Scramble:
On Sunday 16th October we ran an adult 3 ball scramble.  This took place over 36 holes.  There was a very good entry.  The Results are as follows:  Overall Nett Winners were Evelyn Cahill, Anne Fitzgerald & John Fitzgerald with 73.  Overall Nett Runners-up were Jimmy Fitzgerald, Norman Rankin & Tim Shanley with 74 1/3.  the Overall Gross went to Joe Hickey, Paddy O’Hanrahan & Pauline Lucey with 83.  Third Nett on the day went to Jason Fitzgerald, Enda Phelan & Francis McNamara.  Next Sunday there will be another scramble.  Start time will be 1.30p.m. The Entry Fee will be €3.00 per-person.  Come along and have some fun.
