Club Lotto & Bingo:
On Saturday 24th September 2011 the Hillview Lotto was worth €4,300. The numbers drawn were 8-10-11-15 and there was No Winner and there were 5 people with 3 numbers, each receive €20.00.
Next weeks Lotto will take place on Saturday 1st October. The Jackpot will now be worth €4,400. Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers and at the Club Bar. Buy-ins are also now due, €45.00 for 1 year. If you’re not in you can’t win.
The club bingo takes place every Monday Night in St. Mary’s Hall in Irishtown, Clonmel. The books are not expensive and the prizes are good. Come along and enjoy the evening.
Table Tennis:
Fitzgerald Doubles:
Table Tennis is back Ladies and Gentlemen. The 1st competition will now take place on Friday 7th October starting at 8.30p.m. The Entry Fee will be €5.00 per-person. The Closing Date for entries will be Thursday 6th October at 9.00p.m. Open to all members of all standards. New members are welcome. Come along and have some fun while getting some exercise.
Badminton:
Juvenile Badminton Coaching:
Juvenile Badminton Coaching will start on Friday 14th October. Coaching will take place from 7.00p.m. until 8.30p.m. The course will take place over 10 weeks and will cost €50.00. Payment will be due at the 1st session. The entry form is on the notice board in the club hallway. Any youth interested in coaching please write your name on the sheet provided. The closing date for entries is Sunday 9th October.
Tennis:
Fund Raising Open American:
This Thursday night 29th your club needs your support for a fund raising exercise to raise money for a new “GAZEBO”. The “old” one owes us nothing and has served us well. This open will start at 7.00pm and all players are asked to participate if they can. Entry is 10 Euros.
Open Circuit Report:
Great win by Margaret Foley and Anne Marie Quigley in the ladies Grade 6 doubles below in Carrick last week, while the Durkins, mother and daughter pair, Anne & Laura were piped in the finals of the grade 5. While in the G2 mixed Nuala Smith and James Neylon took the seasoned pairing of Noah Kennedy and Dick McCarthy to a nail biting third set in the semis.
Hillview Veterans Tournament:
Entry forms available for the annual veteran’s competition beginning on Friday 7th October till Sunday 9th and are also “online” @ http://ti.tournamentsoftware.com/. There is also a G5/6 mixed for those not competing in the Vets proper. Closing date is Thursday 29th September so get your entry in (Declan Tarrant / Phil Darrer 0863288850 / 0863611270). The tournament is kindly sponsored by Specsavers and G&M Window Cleaners.
Tennis Diary:
The following competitions will be hosted over the coming months at the club. Club Championships 17th October to 22nd October - The Club Team Winter Leagues will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on Tuesday 1st November. The Finals will take place on Saturday 10th December. The “ Singles Ladder” will re-surface shortly. Get these in your diary and try to participate.
Pitch and Putt:
Sunday Scrambles:
On Sunday 25th September we ran a scramble. We had a good entry on the day. It would be nice if a few more people came up to enjoy the game. The results are as follows: Winners were Joe Hickey, Liam McNamara, Eugene O’Mahony and Con Lucey. Runners-up were John Fitzgerald, Pauline Lucey and Francis McNamara. Scrambles will take place every Sunday where possible.
Juvenile Competition:
On Saturday 24th September we ran a junior strokeplay competition. There was a good entry on the day. The top 5 players were covered by just 10 shots. The result is as follows: Winner Michael O’Doherty, Runner-up Oisin Napier and Third Ronan Wagner. There will be no juvenile competition Saturday 1st October. Competitions will recommence on Saturday 8th October at 2.00p.m.
August/September Competition:
This competition will finish on Friday 30th September 2011. The entry fee is €2.00 per-card. Competitors can play as many cards as they like at €2.00 with their best two cards to count. Come on Ladies and Gents this is a great way to get some much needed practice.
Outings:
Members please note that the Pitch and Putt course will be closed on Saturday 1st October. There is an outing from Collins Pitch and Putt Club playing in Hillview. The course will be closed from 11.00a.m.
Bank of Ireland Scramble:
The above scramble will take place on Sunday 2nd October. The entry sheet will be on the notice board in the pitch and putt kiosk and on the notice board in the club hallway. The entry fee will be €5.00 per-person. The closing date for entries will be Friday 30th September 2011 at 9.00p.m. Come along and support this competition.
