On Saturday 3rd December 2011 the Hillview Lotto was worth €1,800.  The numbers drawn were 4-8-10-11 and there was no Winner.  There were 6 tickets with 3 numbers each receive €20.00.

Next weeks Lotto will take place on Saturday 10th December.  The Jackpot will now be worth €2,000.  Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers and at the Club Bar.  Buy-ins are also available at €45.00 for 1 year.  If you’re not in you can’t win.

The club bingo takes place every Monday Night in St. Mary’s Hall in Irishtown, Clonmel.  The books are not expensive and the prizes are good.  Come along and enjoy the evening.

 

Congratulations to Ronnie Fitzgerald who added to his haul this year by winning the Xmas Hamper last Sunday.  More details to follow..

 

Saturday night and the weather was kind to all players who headed out to bring this years very successful league to a closure. The competition was kindly sponsored by Allen’s of Clonmel. In the Div 2 section Paul Garrett pitted his team against James Cleary and co. There followed some hard fought points with both sides trading games in doubles and onward into the closing games of the mixed before James and his team of Michelle Barry, Dee Garrett and Eoin Shanley hit the front to lift this years league.

In Div 1 Patsy Hassett lead his team to an all out assault on Brian Byrne’s crew. Kathleen Deeley and Geraldine Courtney had a great game against Teresa Drohan and Eileen Chambers while Patsy and Jimmy power had a blistering encounter with Brian and Dave Johnson. Nothing between them as they hit the mixed front. In the end Brian’s team took the honours by a narrow margin of 2 games. Club president Seamus O Doherty paid tribute to Declan and Phil for their great work over the past two years, leading the tennis. Declan & Phil thanked all the players who had helped make their captaincy so enjoyable.

 

 

A match versus Douglas from Cork was held at the club on Saturday afternoon in the Grade 3 (ITN Rating 6). Hillview team of Eugene Fogarty Eugene O Mahoney, Nuala Smith and Phil Darrer were up for it! Taking the mixed with Eugene and Nuala and the gent’s singles by Eugene O Mahoney we headed into the doubles 2-1 up. There followed some great tennis by the home side with Eugene x 2 (squared) doing the necessary and giving Hillview a much needed victory as they head into the Christmas recess.
