On Saturday 3rd September 2011 the Hillview Lotto was worth €4,000.  The numbers drawn were 3-13-14-19 and there was No Winner and there were 4 people with 3 numbers, each received €30.00.

Next weeks Lotto will take place on Saturday 10th September.  The Jackpot will now be worth €4,100.  Tickets are €1 each and can be bought from ticket sellers and at the Club Bar.  Buy-ins are also now due, €45.00 for 1 year.  If you’re not in you can’t win.

The club bingo takes place every Monday Night in St. Mary’s Hall in Irishtown, Clonmel.  The books are not expensive and the prizes are good.  Come along and enjoy the evening.

 

To all table quiz fans, please not that there will be a quiz in Hillview Sports Club on Thursday 22nd September in aid of the Local Hospice.  The entry fee will be €20.00 per-table of 4 persons.  The start time will be 9.15p.m.  Please come along and support this very worthy cause.

 

Doubles Competition:

Hello table tennis fans the season is back.  The 1st competition will be Doubles.  It will take place on Friday 23rd September starting at 8.30p.m.  The Entry Fee will be €5.00 per-person.  The Closing Date for entries will be Wednesday 21st September at 9.00p.m.  Open to all members of all standards.  Come along and have some fun while getting some exercise.

 

Open American Tennis will commence again on Monday 29th August at 7.30pm for a trial of four weeks, to see if we can obtain more club players and guests / green fees to participate. This is everyone’s opportunity to have an unscheduled social game of tennis, so give it a go.

 

The following competitions will be hosted over the coming months at the club. The Veterans will take place from October 7th to October 9th respectively.  The Club Championships will be from the 17th to 22nd October. The Club Winter League Team competition will run from the 2nd November to the 10th December.  And last but not least the “Singles Ladder” will re-surface.  Get these in your diary and try to participate.

 

The finals of the above sponsored Graded Matchplays took place on Thursday 25th August 2011.  All the finals were played the true spirit of the game.  Every match went to the 35th or 36th Hole.  Results are as follows: Ladies Matchplay Final the Winner was Kathleen Shanley who beat Pauline Lucey on the 36th hole.  Gents Senior Matchplay Final the Winner was James Cleary who beat Rory O’Hanrahan on the 36th Hole.  Gents Inter Matchplay Final the Winner was Tom Blanche who beat Darren O’Donnell 2 & 1.  The Junior Final between Con Lucey and Rory Sheehan has yet to be played.  Thanks to Kathleen Halpin who represented Clonmel Credit Union for coming to the club to present the prizes on the night.

 

 

On Tuesday 23rd August last we had a good turnout for our social night scramble.  We played over 18 holes.  The result of the scramble is as follows: Overall Nett Winners were Darren O’Donnell, Evelyn Cahill & Christopher Quinn with 33 1/3.  Overall Nett Runners-up were John Fitzgerald, Margaret Ryan & Tom Noonan with 33 2/3.  Overall Gross Winners were Eoin Shanley, Mary Moloney & Norman Rankin with 45.

On Tuesday 30TH August last we had an even better turnout for our 18 hole scramble.  The results were as follows:  Overall Nett Winners were Rory O’Hanrahan, Bridget Welshe & Mary Moloney with 31.  Overall Nett Runners-up were Eoin Shanley & Norman Rankin with 32 1/3.  The Overall Gross winners were John Fitzgerald, Nora Whelan & Tom Noonan with 45.

Next weeks scramble will start at 7.00p.m. sharp.  Entry fee is €3.00 per-person.  Open to all.

 

On Saturday 3rd September we ran a 18 hole competition.  There was a good turnout once again.  The results are as follows: 1st Oisin Napier, 2nd Aaron Flynn, 3rd James Hewitt & 4th Alex Gibbons.  There will be another competition next Saturday 10th September at 2.00p.m.  Entry Fee will be €3.00 per-person.

 

This competition will finish on Friday 30th September 2011.  The entry fee is €2.00 per-card.  Competitors can play as many cards as they like at €2.00 with their best two cards to count.  Come on Ladies and Gents this is a great way to get some much needed practice.

 

The above sponsored scramble will take place on Sunday 18th September.  The Entry Sheet is on the notice board in the hallway and the pitch and putt kiosk.  The closing date for entries will be Friday 16th September at 8.30p.m.  The entry fee will be €3.00 per-person.  Open to all adult and juvenile members.
